Columbia annually awards the Pulitzer Prizes to to founding members and has for winners than any university in the world.

Their football team is one of the oldest in the nation and also boasts the nation's oldest wrestling program. Columbia University even has a women's wrestling team. The most famous athletic alumni has to be Sid Luckman who the led the Chicago Bears for four NFL champions in the 1940s.
